In this talk, I dispel the common misconceptions that surround the doctrine of purgatory among Catholics and Protestants alike. I also give the biblical texts necessary for Catholics to respond to the Protestant question, “Where is that in the Bible?”

Bio: Karlo Broussard, a native of Southern Louisiana, left a promising musical career to devote himself full-time to the work of Catholic apologetics. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in Theology, as well as a Masters in Philosophy, Karlo is a full-time staff apologist for Catholic Answers and travels the country giving talks on apologetics, the Bible, theology, and philosophy.

The letter to the Hebrews gives witness to the faith of the first generation of Christians, clearly articulating the divinity of Jesus, the centrality of Eucharist, and even the significance of the Communion of Saints.

Bio: Andrew Swafford is an Associate Professor of Theology at Benedictine College. He is general editor and contributor to The Great Adventure Catholic Bible published by Ascension Press and host of the DVD series (and author of the companion book) Hebrews: The New and Eternal Covenant, as well as author and host of Romans: The Gospel of Salvation, both published by Ascension. Andrew is the author of Nature and Grace; John Paul II to Aristotle and Back Again; and Spiritual Survival in the Modern World. He holds a doctorate in Sacred Theology from the University of St. Mary of the Lake and a master’s degree in Old Testament & Semitic Languages from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, Academy of Catholic Theology, and a senior fellow at the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. He lives with his wife Sarah and their five children in Atchison, KS.
