  • Why Me? Why, God?

Understanding the Deeper Meaning and Life-changing Catholic Teaching on Redemptive Suffering.

"If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24).

In this online course you will learn much about why an all-loving, all-powerful God would allow his children to suffer. By the end of this 4-part Series you will, hopefully, begin to understand Catholic teaching about this, see suffering in a new way, find peace in the midst of it, and be able to defend this teaching from scripture.

  • Socials with the Saints

The saints are so inspiring! They show us what it looks like to respond to God’s love and grace and to allow him to transform us.

Socials with the Saints are opportunities to learn from these role models of faith and from one another, for fellowship, prayer, and receiving spiritual motivation..

There are four saints to learn from: St. Faustina, Pope St. John Paul II, St. Maximillian Kolbe, and St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein).

These sessions inspire individuals in their daily pilgrimage by introducing them to companions on the journey, in the Communion of Saints.

You can listen to the audios on your own or use them in a small group.

Suggested Format for Four different Sessions: Brief introduction to a role model of faith (saint), followed by audio podcast or video of the life of the saint., concluding with discussion & prayer Focus on how can they help you in your daily life?

  • A Catholic View of the End Times

This course covers Catholic Eschatology which includes: The Four Last Things: Death, Judgment, Heaven (Purgatory), Hell; the Second Coming of Christ, The Resurrection of the Dead, The General or Final Judgment and the New Creation.

Section 282 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church assures us that knowing what happens at the end of human history is “decisive for the meaning and orientation of our life and actions.” Our view of end times determines our view of salvation history. Knowing what happens at the end of our lives and the end of human history is of supreme importance for understanding why God made us and what He has planned for us both in this life and in the next.

  • Make of Yourself a Capacity

Jesus said to St. Angela of Foligna: "Make of yourself a capacity and I will make myself a torrent!"

This course is all about learning how to make ourselves a capacity - people who can be completely filled with the love of God - so that we can effectively love others.

  • Six Reasons We Have to Carry Our Crosses

"If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24).

Why did Jesus say this? It is because He knows all of the benefits that can come from this & He doesn’t want us to miss out on them.

In this course you will learn much about why an all-loving, all-powerful God would allow his children to suffer. By the end of this 3-part series you will begin to understand Catholic teaching about this, see suffering in a new way, find peace in the midst of it, and be able to defend it from scripture.

  • Understanding Redemptive Suffering

Welcome to this page on Redemptive Suffering. There are videos, articles, podcasts and many links to other types of media that address this life-changing topic. To make your time here more fruitful consider praying the following prayer before you begin:

    Dear Lord,

Help me to remember in times of suffering, the cross you carried for my sake, so that I may better carry mine. Help me to understand the incredible value you have given to the offering of my suffering as a sacrifice united to yours. As I explore the teachings you have given to your Church on this topic, open my mind and heart to the hidden treasures of redemptive suffering. Help me to allow my suffering and crosses - great & small - to unite me more deeply to you, help other people and to increase my capacity to love you for all eternity. Amen.
